LIPSTICK HAUL // NUDE EDITION

 [ IMG HEAVY ]

This is probably one of the biggest hauls I've done for lip products, but they're collated from a few months >.< But anyway, nude lips have always been a nice colour to wear for a more natural and subtle look. However I never really looked much into them because idk, I was just more of a pink or red lip kind of girl and also because nudes are just a pain in the ass to find one that suits my skin tone. But I've decided to buy into the trend and went on a hunt for my perfect nude lip. There are some products in here that aren't lipsticks and not nude, but I wanted to include them anyway.

APRIL SKIN Magic Snow Cushion White Review - #22 Pink Beige

Ebay: £14.75

If you're a makeup wearer you'll have definitely seen cushions everywhere on the market right now, be it in Asia or somewhere in Europe. I'm lazy so I like to have something that I can just slap on my face when I feel like wearing makeup that's quick, easy and don't require much blending. Unlike a lot of bloggers, I've only tried out 3 cushions so far (this is by far my favourite) and I'm planning to make more purchases as soon as this one runs out ;D

I'm not sure if many of you have heard of the brand April Skin but they're pretty popular in Korea right now, and of course their Magic Snow Cushion and Magic Snow Cream being their bestsellers. Their selling point is the amount of coverage it provides as well as offering the flawless dewy skin that is in trend at the moment.

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur Review

I have a mini break before I have to go back to revising and doing assignments again. Pretty sure anyone who's interested in Korean makeup or a big fan of Etude House products will have seen / heard of this primer. There are various coloured primers suited to your skin needs e.g. green for redness, purple for dullness etc. This is a peach toned primer so it's a general primer that brightens up the complexion. I heard the Innisfree No Sebum Blur primer is good too so that would be my next purchase.

This product claims to provide "multi-blurring effects for instantly refined and smooth skin. Skin's texture is smoothed, pores minimised and complexion brightened."

First of all, I couldn't help but notice the odd SPF number like as if someone just picked a random number. But nevertheless, I like that it has SPF because it can keep my skin protected from the toxic sun. The packaging is nothing too fancy, just a plastic pink bottle with some metallic shine. It comes as a pump so it's pretty hygienic and we all know how makeup can get all yucky and germy >.<  To me this smells like Johnson's baby wipes which I'm not too fond of but it's tolerable because the smell isn't overwhelming.

Sleek Makeup True Colour Matte Lipstick Review | #Vamp

Superdrug: £4.99
Autumn is approaching and I have been trying to hunt down darker colours to fit my moods during colder months. Finding the perfect red shade for me has always been so difficult since I'm never able to find the right one; looks fine at the store and then put it on at home and it becomes brighter than what I'd want it to be. I hate trying on testers at stores because it's not hygienic.

Vamp as it's name suggests is a deep red matte lipstick that contains vitamin E to moisturise the lips. I tested it on my hand and it was such a nice colour, basically the perfect red shade that I've wanted for so long!

Maybelline Lasting Drama 24h Gel Liner Review

Superdrug: £7.99?
I've recently lost my eyeliner *cries* and that is a staple product, like my makeup isn't even makeup without the eyeliner T__T I had to replace my eyeliner with black eyeshadow at one point, that's how you know I can't live without that black line across my eyelids - need to make these Chinese eyes bigger you know? ;P

I don't know about you but I've tried pretty much all kinds of eyeliner types; liquid, felt tip, gel, pencil you name it, so I know what works best for me. I went for a gel liner since I found that was easier to create a bolder look compared to the other mediums, where you have to build on the thickness. What attracted me to this was how it says "2 brushes in 1" and "lasting up to 24h", I mean who doesn't love a double ended brush with long lasting makeup?

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Superdrug: £3.29
The most annoying thing to do when you put on makeup is to remove it later that day. For me, I'm lazy so I want something that would remove my makeup without having to tug at my skin with a lot of effort. This product was purchased ages ago but I barely use it due to make up wipes being invented, and come on who doesn't prefer to use one wipe and be done with it? Unfortunately my wipes ran out so I had to result to using this.

LANCÔME Miracle Cushion Review

Selfridges - 02 Beige Rosé
My first ever cushion and boy am I happy! I actually wanted to try the Korean ones first because I've read so many reviews about them and the fact that they're cheaper e.g. Innisfree's Long Wear Cushion and Laneige Whitening BB Cushion. However, I walked into Selfridges with the intention of buying a MAC lipstick which was unfortunately out of stock, and instead came out with this baby.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner Review

Bobbi Brown: £18
If I had to pick one kind of makeup to wear everyday and can't wear anything else, it would definitely be eyeliner. So of course investing in a good quality one is a must for me; only good quality ones will stay on and not rub off that easily in the rain.

There was so much hype about this product a couple years ago and it's still one of Bobbi Brown's best sellers today, which says a lot about it. This is my first gel liner and I've got to say that this is definitely worth it for the price you pay for.

Packaging
A small round pot filled with a solid black gel inside; outside appearance is of glass material with a screw on top.

My Natural Daily Makeup

As you all can see in my photos or from the posts I've put up, I don't wear a lot of makeup nor do I wear makeup daily - I simply don't think I need to and I'm just plain lazy haha >.<

What I consider as natural and minimal may not be to you so don't kill me if I claim something to be natural and you don't - you've been warned. If there's anything that I can't live without makeup wise and I can only pick one thing it would definitely be eyeliner; it can be in any formula I don't really mind as long as it's black eyeliner. I'm half Chinese so my eyes aren't really big but they're surprisingly not that small either so a little bit of eyeliner usually just enlarges slightly, but not much of a difference so I've been told by many people :)

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB Beauty Balm Review

Boots: £18

You can never have too many BB creams and I'm a collector of them. I like to try out different BB creams as personally I think we should alternate between products sometimes in order to see the difference in our skin. Of course I try out many others just because I either really like the packaging or I just simply like to try new things :)

From my knowledge; there seems to be 4 different types of BB creams from Dr. Jart+ and these do not mean they are different shades as I believe there are only one shade for each of these. All of these have different purposes and are better suited to certain skin types.

The Types
  • Water Fuse SPF 25 - "ideal for those aged 20-35s with a soft application which gives natural, fresh looking skin and controls sebum production."
  • Regenerating SPF30 - "Provides strong coverage for redness and spots which won't rub off as easily as traditional cosmetics. Skin will look brighter, whilst still suitable for problem and sensitive skin. Particularly suitable for those between 20 and 35."
  • Platinum SPF30 - "Provides high coverage in a light application. The moisturising lotion is particularly suitable for those in their 30s"
  • Premium SPF40 - "Provides high SPF40 protection with anti-oxidants. A slightly glossy, low coverage cream which helps fight ageing. Particularly suitable for those over 30."

Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm Review

Colour: Drive Me Nude
I've been trying to find a nude colour lipstick for ages but have never really found the right shade or consistency, but I finally came across this and was literally over the moon.

It's in the shape of a fat pencil with an easy grip and a twisted bottom like a lipstick would. I dislike how the lid is basically like a pen lid and product can get on to the sides very easily. The actual product itself is literally like a crayon where it's pointy, so unlike lipsticks they're not slanted to one side to fit the natural mouth shape. I find this very unpractical as it's more difficult to apply that way, but another reason why I don't like it's shape is the fact that with due time the shape it originally was like would just become like a blunt pencil and look ridiculous. I have OCD with trying to make products looking neat even after I've used them.

Sleek Makeup CC Cream Review

Product + Swatch
CC Cream stands for colour correcting; from what I know it's an upgrade from a BB cream. To me, BB creams are more of a makeup product due to it's coverage abilities (there are BB's with less coverage). This is the first time I've tried CC cream and I'm glad I did as this is one of my daily used products. It is also a great alternative to foundations and other heavier BB creams.

My shade is fair; although I believe I could also be "light" as I have pale skin but sometimes have a yellowish undertone depending on my diet and the weather. I opted for this one as it appeared to match my skin much better than the other shade. If you're unsure as to what shade you are, use a tester and apply it onto your face.

NIVEA Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer Review

Boots - £2.49
Being a resident in England means constant cold, windy weathers for 3/4 of the year, meaning we constantly will need to moisturise our skin so that we're not getting dry patches or irritated skin.

I was looking for a face primer one time and came across this product which claims to also act as a moisturiser on its own. I got this in normal/combination because that is my skin type and honestly upon opening the lid, the smell of it already gave me a good vibe to the product. I'm not usually too keen on face products with fragrance in it, simply because I feel like a lot of chemicals have been put into it that would mess up my skin. I don't have sensitive skin but that's my paranoia with fragranced products.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick Review

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick Hot Pepper 3
03 - Hot Pepper
*Source: Google Images
Hey guys, so I assume this is a fairly new product in the UK as it was highly advertised in the Bourjois section when I went into Superdrug. To me, the packaging of this seems like it was some kind of lip gloss and I hateeeee lip gloss. I just don't see the need of it because when I used it in the past, they all seemed to be too sticky for me - yes, even the high end ones. So if I wanted to have a more shinier finish to my lips I just simply apply a bit of Vaseline or some kind of lip balm and pop on my lipstick then BAM you're done - moisturised and pretty lips, win win if you ask me ;)

This was advertised claiming to give a "velvet" finish but I opened the bottle and saw a liquid formula. "Is this really going to give me a matte finish like the picture is showing?" - I thought to myself when I picked it up. I really liked the shade of red, so I went ahead and swatched it onto my hand and just like the picture below, it indeed looked like a lip gloss. But once I wiped a bit of it off my hand it immediately turned into a matte red and even made that part of my hand feel really smooth - like "velvet".
